There is another thread looking at acceptances to summer reserach programs like REU, SURF, SURP, SIP, etc. I'm sure all these programs are what you make out of it, but how would you generally 'rank' the quality/prestige/experience of the programs? Also, feel free to rank all the programs you know.

it cannot be done. too many programs, too many differences, not enough data, not enough perspective across programs.

Fair point. I'll revise the question to strictly encompass perceived quality/prestige in the eyes of an applicant to these programs that may need to choose between them / admissions committees.
 
It really doesn't matter much because in academia the expert in a particular area of research isn't necessarily at a big name school. What you do in the program and whether you are published are much more important than the name.
