If I major in chemistry, then I think I have no time to take advanced biology courses (because I need take both General courses for graduation and advanced chems. for degree), so I try to take cell biology and microbiology during summer; will it be bad?! What will D school consider summer courses?

Those course will be marked Pass or Fail on a transcript- (not letter GPA grade)

I am not sure about the pass/fail part, but taking courses over the summer shouldn't hurt you. I took organic I and II during one summer, and it was never even mentioned by the school I am attending or any of the other schools I interviewed at.

In a normal situation I would say that the quarter/semester a course is taken is irrelevant (i.e. during summer). However in your situation, with it being Pass/Fail, that is definitely a problem. Many schools state that their prereqs must be taken for a letter grade. Microbiology is prereq at some schools.

Were both orgo I and II during summer marked as a letter grade (A, A-..,etc.)

Hm... I mean If i take summer courses at other school, then I will get a letter grade, but my school will consider summer courses at other school as a pass or fail... so,,:scared:

A letter grade on your transcript from that other school will mean a letter grade on your AADSAS application, and thus will be accepted as prereqs by dental schools. The way your school treats them (switching them from graded to P/F) is irrelevant, and will not affect how dental schools see them.

Since this thread discusses Pass/Fail I would like to know how Dental Schools' perception of a "P" on the transcript for a Prereq. course such as Pre-Cal. I am struggling with the mathematics and though some dental schools do not require it, I feel it necessary to take. The other option is to Withdraw, but I feel capable of weeding out a passing grade. I will have to retake the Pre-Cal class again, most likely, but I would really like to know how schools view the "P" on a required course.

Also, on a Post-Bac student's record.

Thanks for the input.
