Hello fellow SDN'ers,

I've been perusing the forums for an answer to my question. Will taking General Chem 2 in the summer affect my dental school application? Will taking any other pre-req classes in the summer also affect my app? By the way, is there any advice, in regards to study, that can be given for taking a summer session course, especially if I go through with Chem 2 in summer.

if you're taking it at community college, then yes it would matter. Try to take it at university level at all costs for any science courses.

I am currently at Stony Brook University and was planning to take it here. That should be fine going by what you have told me. Thanks a lot for the help.

Took both gen chems over the summer. 4-year university. No issues.

I took both over the summer as well (2 before 1, I don't recommend that order!) and it didn't have any adverse effects on my application. The only thing was I felt I had to study a bit more on gem chem for the DAT because I had some holes in my knowledge from taking it quickly and in reverse order.
