Hey guys,

so I figured that I would join up, one because this site has given me a lot of useful information thus far, and two because I figured if nothing else, you guys might get a good laugh or encouragement out of my pre-MCAT story/experience.

I'm 23 years old, and going into my 3rd year of Law school at the University of Florida, and I am taking the MCAT on August 23rd (2009). I wrote all this and more here:

http://mcatinamonth.blogspot.com/

Basically, besides some skimming review, I'll be cramming for the MCAT in a 30 day period. Believe me, I know it's crazy.

Anyways, I'm pretty hopeful, my Verbal score is already about where I want it without having studied (just because of my practice with the already taking the LSAT...which is all verbal.) and I really can't speak to my scoring on the other sections as I have't taken a practice section (but I'm sure they're not pretty yet.)

I hope you guys enjoy it, I'm going to update it occassionally throughout July, and then when I start my cram sessions in August i will update it daily.

Like I said, if I screw it up royally, then maybe someone will learn from or, or get a good laugh out of it, and if I actually end up doing decent on it....then it'll be good for everyone.

enjoy it.

Okay, I looked at your blog and you mentioned that you have strong background courses in math and bio but weak background in chemistry. Have you taken all of the prerequisites (1 year chem, 1 year bio, 1 year physics, 1 year organic chemistry)? are you doing this as an experiment or are you planning on going to med school?

regardless, this is an awful idea.

I disagree! I look forward to seeing what you
post...whether you do well or not, it'll give
insight into cramming. If you do well, it'll
give other procrastinating crammers a method and some hope.
If not, ppl can learn from your experience and
how to not repeat your mistakes.

In another words: "OP, I don't give a f about what you score. I just want to use you as a guinea pig to see if I can procrastinate, then cram intensely for a month, and still do a good job on the MCAT"

Good luck man. I'm doing the same thing - July 30th MCAT here. Same boat as you (engineer though), consistent 13+ on VR, but need to shore up my chemistry. This is my last week off before school kicks off - I've been doing 12 hours/day study blocks, and have almost completed the EK box set (Physics done, Bio done, Inorganic done - once I finish Orgo, my only plan is to take practice tests repeatedly).

lol...that's your interpretation, which has little to nothing to do with what I posted. I don't procrastinate-I've been studying for about 4 months. You were right about me wanting to see if someone could do it though.

LOL. Alright true.

OP where are you? How is your studying going?
