Hi all,

I would like to know if pharmacy students still have "summer vacation"? I heard that pharmacy students have to do all kinds of rotation during the summer. Is that true?

I got accepted and I am currently working. I cannot decide when I should quit my job. If I would not have summer vacation in the next few years, it's better for me to take a LOOOOOOOOOOONG vacation before it's too late. 😀

Thank you!!

So... does that mean that students do not have to work (rotation) during the summer?

i don't and i go to a 4 year school our rotations are incorporated into our school years

Great. It's nice to know. Thank you very much!

It depends on your school and state licensure requirements. At Maryland, you get the summer off after 1st year. After 2nd year, you can do 1 month of community and 1 month of institutional rotation in 2 of the 3 months of summer break or the 1 month break between 3rd year. Then after 3rd year, it's 7 months worth of rotations to get the required 1500 hours.

I'm at UF and we get the summers off between years 1 & 2 and years 2 & 3. The 3rd summer, we are on rotations. So, it really depends on your school.
