Hello all. I was curious if anyone has had experience with suntrust physician loans at all. Not the mortgage loans, but the "you need a little extra money" loans that they offer. Going into fellowship for one year and with a load of debt and a house to sell I am looking at options at this point. I tried a search on here and I didn't see much with regards to this type of loan. The interest is a bit high but I can pay interest during fellowship and it gives me cash that I need for the duration of fellowship. If anyone has any other tips as well I would be open to suggestions. Thanks for the information in advance.

Hello I m new this forum. I m a 2nd year resident. Just heard about suntrust physician loan. I m currently in lot of credit card debt from med school, USMLE exam, struggle to survive in usa and residency application. Talked to suntrust representative yesterday n seems to be nice. I have read mixed review from forum members bat this loan program. But most of them were old and mainly related to their bad customer service.
Could anyone get me good insight about suntrust physician loan? R they reliable? R they safe to get loan from?
My credit card interest rate is very high mostly 20 to 22% and even in residency and spending money on only necessary things, I m finding it difficult to pay off credit cards. M in really need of some good physician loan to consolidate my credit card debt.
Please help me! Thanks in advance.

Why don't you apply for zero % credit card and transfer your balance to it.
If you are PGY-II now, you can get a 18mo card and then graduate and as an attending pay off the balance aggressively in the months remaining.

Here are some examples:
(a) Chase Slate, free balance transfers and 0% APR for 15mo

(b) Chase Freedom, same as (a)

(c) Citi Diamond prerefered. 21mo o% APR but it does have cost for balance transfers
