Something I have struggled to find concrete answers on for UB/SBU:
I realize this is very niche and may not be answerable but I wanted to chuck it out there in case somebody has an inkling.
Thanks,

It seems so. What proof do you have that you have lived in NY state?

Tax, bank, driver license, registration, insurance, paystubs - the whole nine yards.
What I was trying to figure out was the timing and whether or not I'll get lumped in with OS if I only had 8 months or so on application day.
which of course very well might not be publicly answerable, but I figured it didn't hurt to throw the question out.

You might as well ask. It may hurt for one year, but then you could do the math to see if they have a few thousand to make up the difference. See the financial aid forum.

And thank you for taking the time on such an odd/niche question.
It's more about being the 14-15% acceptance rate pop instead of the 3% for OS.
Don't know if anyone's heard of the opposite, but if you qualified for IS tuition, you qualify for that admission preference too, right? It's not generally a separate consideration?

I think the admissions decision has factored the IS/OOS situation. I don't know if SB or UB have fixed seats for IS/OOS, but chances are they anticipated you being charged at OOS rate because of information you disclosed on your application (if that is even a factor for offer distribution). As usual, ask the financial aid office.

Ah, sorry, this is for next cycle when I apply. Weighing the cost of paying an extra 6k for the last few college credits OS for that factor for offer distribution - if it even exists, as you said.

As usual, ask the financial aid office.
I am waiting to hear back. Fingers crossed it's the answer I want to hear, but I'm not hopeful.
Grateful for the chat nevertheless.
