has anyone interviewed at SUNY Downstate so far? how was the interview? what do you think about the program (pros and cons)?

Pros: University-based, education is a priority, some research opportunities, very good clinical exporsure with wide diversity of patients and cases, comfortable schedule (5 call per month each is only 12 hours), friendly residents and faculty, 50000$ per year, 600$ for books/PDA, thursday protected-day, 4 weeks vacation, away electives, MPH allowed, NYC... (for me) IMG friendly, sponsor H1, and offer a prematch.

Cons: I don't know how safe is the area?! probably it is not that safe. Sure it is not one of the 1st tier programs but it has a lot of potientals.

I signed a prematch contract and I'm very happy and excited to join this program.

Also it is rank is 30 (based on NIH awards)

Dear Friend, Please give me some info about sponsoring J-1 visas and interview process...Thank you in advance...
