Anyone take pre-reqs here if they already graduated and didn't take them in college? They are online and cheap for in-state residents...a 4 year SUNY school...and don't indicate "online" on the transcript.

Dont do shit online. Besides 'toga is an awesome town full of bars, horses, and hotties. <3

I can't move, I have a full-time job and home, so it's either online or nothing honestly. I don't understand the "founding your career on a lie" comment though - how would I be lying?

b.s. question...seriously...

If you're taking classes online, then you HAVE to indicate this on AMCAS. If you don't mention it, and you're caught, the repercussions could be enormous. It's a deceitful practice not to mention the nature of your classes if they weren't taken in an actual classroom.

Really? I can't ever recall seeing "online" on any AMCAS application and I review about 800 each year.

Harvard and MIT are teaming up to offer online courses. Seems like its probably a big part of the future of undergrad learning. Plus it will help keep schools financially solvent in the age of extreme budget cuts (although the Harvard-MIT program is supposed to be free)

My mistake. It seems weird to me that AMCAS wouldn't want their applicants to designate that a certain pre-req was taken online (if applicable), especially if the applicant can erroneously "forget" to mention such a crucial detail. I suppose it would be on the transcript.

It's not erroneous for someone to omit it, it's simply a non-issue. Just because you aren't physically sitting in a classroom does not mean you are learning less, and as others have mentioned, many top schools are offering courses online. With email, recorded lectures, webcams, etc. it's hard to argue that traditional face to face courses are always better. Where exactly are you proposing we would "forget" to mention it? You think we're supposed to write our personal statement about where we took all of our pre-reqs?
