Hi!

When I went for my interview at SUNY, they had said that they would be sending housing info by mail so that we can find roomates for the upcoming year. I was hoping that some present, or future, SUNY students could tell me how long it usually takes to get this info after you have sent in your deposit.

Admissions usually sends your info packet to you right away -- they might send them out in batches (wait until they have a couple to send out), but I don't remember it being that long before I got stuff.

There is a "Housing Day" (I can't remember when it is -- maybe June?) where people who are interested in finding roommates get together. I didn't participate in it, but it seems to me a lot of people found roommates that way.

I think most SUNY students just rent. But hey, if you got the capital, go for it if you think it's a good investment.

If my mom and dad had $1.5 million to buy me a place in Manhattan, I wouldn't be in optometry school. 😉
