I received an interview offer from SUNY a few weeks ago and it's coming up fast but I'm super nervous. It's my top choice of school and honestly I was surprised that I got an offer with my less then stellar OAT score (320AA / 300TS). I had a 330+ on all the sections but physics and bio were lack luster at 280 and 290 respectively. For those who have had an interview there, any advice would be greatly appreciated. What was the interview like for you? I heard they revamped their interview so there no longer a essay and it's more conversational. I looked at the interview forum but there weren't many up to date posting. Thank you in advance!

Can I ask what was your GPA and extracurricular was like? SUNY sent me an email about how their interview process and questions might ask. Go to Youtube and look up Admission Camp: 8- The Interview, Part 1 and 2. The video was made by SUNY itself. SUNY is my number one school too, but I am retaking my OAT again.

Thank you for letting me know! Will definitely take a look at the videos. In regards to my GPA, I have a 3.45 overall, 3.72 science, and 4.00 pre-req. I've been working the last three years at a corneal specialist private practice as the lead ophthalmic tech, working on the slit lamp daily to access patients ocular health with the doctor. It's really given me a chance to see the scope of what optometry has to offer thanks to all the exposure I've had with ocular disease. I've also showed surgeons that my practice is affiliated with and other optometrist that fill in from time to time (about 70+ hours I think?). Academically, I was VP of HKSA and Vice captain of our schools badminton team but other then that I've had no real exposure during my undergrad to optometry.
