Hi,
I was wondering if any SUNY students, can recomend something... to someone who has been out of school for a couple of years? Perhaps, some time management skill, or a book, or a some magic powder? I am just pretty freaked out about the "very heavy" workload and the lack of time! 😳 😳 😳
Thanx

Are you a first year? It can be a pretty intense experience if you have been out of school for awhile. The best advice I can give you is to stay really organized and don't let anything slide -- stay on top of everything. Keep a calendar with midterm dates, assignments, practicals, etc., and come up with a filing system to keep your handouts, transcipts and notes organized. And since the schedule 1st year is relatively light (you have some afternoons/evenings free), take time to go to the gym, watch TV, or just chill out with friends. Also, just know that everyone else is pretty stressed out, too, even if they don't show it. 😉

Good luck, you'll get through it! :luck:

I'm not sure if the 1st year schedule would be considered light, maybe it is relative to 2nd year, but especially now in 2nd quarter the work is piling up. I don't think time management should be that difficult, it's basically go to class, study, sleep, repeat, not too much that you can do with that. There is not too much you can do to prepare, if you have crazy self motivation and control, you can try to get a head start by reading up/studying neuroscience, gross anatomy, and biochemistry. But basically just take it as it comes. There are many days when you will wonder how you got into this mess and want to quit, but you'll get over it.

I guess what I'm trying to say is don't stress. At SUNY don't expect to have time everyday to relax, but if you work hard all week, you can have some time on the weekends to relax.😳

I agree. SUNY is really really hard comparing to undergrad but if you take it one bit at a time. It is do-able. Best of luck to everyone 🙂
