supplemental/additional fee late, will it affect review process?

I just got an email saying I haven't submitted my 80$ app fee to NYU like 2 days ago. Does anyone know if admissions only review your application AFTER this secondary app fee is paid? is not a mandatory pre-req to actually begin reviewing the completed app?

I applied to schools last year, and for some reason have "no fee" in my notes next to NYU, so I was surprised receiving this news.

They only review your app once it is paid. IMO don't pay it you probably won't get in there now.

Most schools won’t look at your app until you pay the fee. It just goes into the incomplete folders. If NYU is a top choice just pay it and hope for the best
