1. Are supplements essays weighed as heavily as the personal statement in regards to grammar, content and revision process?

2. Is it acceptable to tailor the supplemental essay for that particular school?

Supplemental essays are tailored to the school. I would say they are weighted just as much if not more.

Take them seriously. They will determine your competitiveness/uniqueness in a way that grades and transcripts cannot.
