I have a question regarding the supplemental applications, sorry if this was previously asked. Will the schools still review your primary application, (optomcas) and grant interviews without the supplemental application being submitted yet?

I applied to NOVA, IUCO, PCO, and OSCO. IUCO extended me an interview based on my primary application, without a submitted supplemental. I think this may be uncommon.... because all the other schools seem to require that they have both first, so they can review them at the same time. Perhaps if the primary one is exceptionally strong they may make an exception. Hope this helps.

I think it depends on the school. Some of the supplemental application's only purpose, I felt, was to provide the school with some information before they received your OPTOMcas application: GPA, address, e-mail address (and of course 50 bucks) I thought UMSL and SCO were like this. I was under the impression ICO will not offer interviews until the supplemental application is received, I felt their supplemental application was to weed out some applicants since they get so many.

Ohio State offered me an interview before they received my supplemental, and that supplemental was REALLY hard, AND it was the only one with a deadline. It was 4 essays, and more like a medical school supplemental app. I felt like that one, since Ohio State has an open file interview, was to help give the interviewer some more interesting or specific questions to ask at the interview.

for those of you who have completed the ICO supplemental app, for the part that asks who influenced our decision to apply, do we have to fill this in? No one has influenced my decision, i decided on my own so is it frowned upon to leave this blank??

Thanks!

you may want to write that you influenced it yourself, instead of leaving it blank. Looks better that way.
