Supplemental Essay

I have to write a supplemental essay about advancing the profession of PT. I know what I would say about how I would advance my own career. I'm stumped on how to advance the profession... mentoring others? research? being active in national/local associations?

Any thoughts?

If I were you, I would go to the Physical Therapy forum to ask for help. Most people here are in PT school or are applying to PT school. The members in the PT forum would have much more insight, since many of them are practicing PTs and have experience in the field.

look up `the 7 core values of the apta` 2 of them are professionalism and social responsibility. professionalism includes advocating on behalf of pt, which could include writing letters to your elected representative

they'll probably want to hear about autonomy, evidence-based practice, advancement to the DPT degree, etc... those are some things you should read about.
