Im in orgo 1 and im not in love with my text ( janice gorzy smith). The problems are really easy and arent up to par with the exams. I was wondering what other text you guys would recommend. From other posts it seems Wade is pretty legit. Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

Organic chemistry as a second language.

She was my instructor at the University of Hawaii, and we used her book. Her class was killer! Exams were super hard, and once I got a 4/100. And this is after going to see her for help in the mornings, before almost every other class. Suffering rewarded by pain. Yeah, the book was definitely aesthetic, but not terribly helpful.

Any orgo text by Klein is good. We're using Klein's new textbook and it's easy as all get out.

This. I bought his book in addition to our required text and I like it so much more. I highly recommend it.

I own practically every orgo text known to man. I'd say that Klein's text (not the second language one, but 1st edition one) has probably the most detailed mechanisms for a beginner. Wade probably goes into more detail, either text is great. It really depends what you are struggling with. If you want to setup great synthesis problems, then buy the Klein 1st edition text and solutions manual - he has problems setup in a color wheel type fashion, where in the center is a compound and then it is reacted with every reagent known to man. This approach makes it really easy to leapfrog some reactions and essentially synthesize your own compounds.

Any of you use Pushing Electrons? I just ordered it...

It's pretty good for first semester. It will teach you how to properly draw a mechanism which is a valuable skill. It isn't as crucial as the Second Language book.
