Anybody else starting to be driven crazy by supplements? Just when you think you have it all done and can get back to work on school work, there's more to do!

Tell me about it! I love Auburn's...just a little paragraph explaining why I wish to attend their program. What's up with some of the schools requesting photos of the applicants? What are they looking for? I'm debating whether or not I should wear my glasses in the pic...maybe look just a smidge more intelligent?? 😎

Auburn's supplemental is not due Oct 2nd... It said not to send it until requested, right? I hope I didn't misread. . . I better go check...

I didn't see a due date on Auburn's, and you're not supposed to send it in until they ask for it. As soon as I sent in my VMCAS, Auburn sent me an email asking me to submit the supp app, but still no due date. It's short, so you can probably finish it in a day and send it immediately.

Just out of curiosity... how many schools is everyone applying to? And I can't wait for this whole process to be over!

who in the world is asking for pictures?!? 😳

Western asked us for a picture when I applied (I am 4th year here now). It was an optional thing though not required. I figured why not, so I included mine. When interview day came each and every person I encountered (administration/admission people) ALL knew my name! I asked how (this was before I got my name badge) they said they remember pictures from applicants. Maybe some people perfer not to but it actually seemed to help me calm down in the interview process when it felt like some of the people (obviously not the interviewers though) already knew me.🙄

The university of florida asks for pictures, and the dean of admissions sits there and memorizes everybodys name (when they get in of course lol) and they make a "composite" for the week of orientation with the pictures everyone submitted, so you can look at them and know who these other crazy 80 people are. :-D

Any suggestions on the whole "why did you choose this university" question?? I mean, it's kind of obvious why I'm applying to my in-state school, but how can I make it more interesting than that?😕

So this isn't foolproof, but just go to the main web page for the school and look at it. Probably in the past you've just been searching for the "admissions info" link, but just look at the page as a whole and pay attention to what they put on it, what they emphasize. Research, sports medicine, rural outreach, whatever... Are they bragging about new research developments? Did they just build a spiffy new high-tech teaching hospital? Do they profile some prominent specialists? Or do they pride themselves on good old fashioned general-practice community vets? Do they have a big charity fund for treating shelter animals? Is *anything* they're making a big deal of something you can legitimately say you're attracted to or excited by?

You can also soften "you're my instate school, duh" by mentioning your strong connection to the area and genuine desire to stay in the state and practice after graduation - I don't know if they fall for that or not. 🙂
