Surface area has no effect on vapor pressure?

If an increase in surface area increases boiling point, why wouldn't an increase in surface area decrease the vapor pressure (i was always under the impression that if you decrease the vapor pressure of the liquid you would be increasing the boiling point)

I don't get how surface area has no effect on vapor pressure.
 
The rate of vaporization increases with increasing temperature, increasing surface area and decreasing strength of intermolecular forces.
 
okay think of it this way. Let's say you have water that is spread out two different areas. for example one being in a big beaker with larger surface area and one with a small beaker with less surface area. The vapor pressure wouldn't be affected because it's still has to reach a certain temp for both beakers until gases start escaping. So whether you have a large surface area doesn't make a difference because it takes a certain temp to start letting gas escape but surface area is affected by temperature because if you have more liquid it's going to take a longer time to starting boiling compared to a smaller portion.
