Please explain how the directions are given for surface tension at liquid -solid interface,surface tension at solid vapor interface,surface tension at liquid vapor interface.

@determined daisy, did you get this yet? The arrows showing the directions for each surface tension are just pointing along and towards the interface for that type of surface tension at this point where all three boundaries meet. So the liquid-solid surface tension is directed left, towards and along the liquid solid boundary inside the droplet. The solid-vapor arrow is pointing towards the solid-vapor boundary which is outside the droplet to the right at this point. Then the liquid-vapor boundary is tangent to the surface of the liquid droplet.

I hope this helps, it is simpler than this diagram makes it look!
