Surface Waves. EK and HELP!!!

Is it necessary to know SURFACE waves for the MCAT? EK says you don't...and I haven't seen ONE thing about these kinds of waves in Kaplan. Please HELP!!!

If EK says you don't, more than likely you'll never see them without the necessary info being given in a passage.

EK discusses surface waves so that you'll be prepared if you see it in a passage. So you don't have to "know it," but if you have time then it wouldn't hurt, either.
