There is an unexpected opening in our 2018-19 Surgical Pathology Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. Please pass the word along to anyone looking for the upcoming year.
Please contact me with any questions or for more information, and see info below (and official contact):
Surgical Pathology Fellowship
Fellowship
Seven one-year fellowships are offered to provide advanced experience in surgical pathology. These positions have received ACGME special selective accreditation. The surgical pathology practice of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania functions in a subspecialty model. The responsibilities of fellows include supervised signout of a comprehensive range of medical and oncologic surgical specimens and responsibility for frozen section diagnoses.
Fellows rotate through all of the surgical pathology subspecialty rotations and choose a subspecialty of particular interest for additional concentration. Development of a translational research project during the fellowship year is strongly encouraged.
The laboratory accessions approximately 50,000 surgical specimens a year. Candidates who demonstrate excellence in diagnostic skills, a firm commitment to teaching, and who complete a research project related to human disease, may be eligible for the H. T. Enterline Fellowship Award. Stipends are commensurate with the year of postgraduate training.
Requirements
Successful completion of the Residency requirements for certification in Anatomic Pathology.
Applications
Applications must be received by January 1 of the year preceding the intended fellowship (begins July 1). Applications will be accepted until all positions are filled. Documents needed: Completed application; Curriculum Vitae; Personal Statement; USMLE score report; ECFMG certificate (international); three (3) letters of recommendation.
