i've heard that a very common thing is to switch from gsurg residency to anesthesia. if one of you did that, can you please say why, were you interested in anesthesia before residency itself and how you feel about the switch? thanks!

Hey, I am gen surger prelim intern at UMDNJ, with no spot for PGY-2 yet. I would like to get a spot in anesthesia. can you advise me about the best way going about this? I was planning on going through ERAS and also start calling all programs and finding out about spots available now to get out of match. Thanks.
