Question: Came to LOVE Ophtho in my third year. Made great connections and research and rotated through it. I love medical retina and uveitis, the nonsurgical fields of Ophthalmology. However, I don't really like procedures or surgery because I don't feel like im that good with my hands. Trying to learn to suture on Gen Surg was painful! Hated being in the OR in surgery and on OB (although i know surgery and ob are totally different types of surgery) Is it worth it to suck it up for three years to end up doing something I love?
