I'm a surgery intern and I started off with Sabiston which I found to be pretty dry, and a difficult read.
I switched to G'field because my program uses it. It's a much easier read than Sabiston. I have been able to work through about half of the book so far. The tables and charts are pretty good, and it's organized well so that you can read a few sections at a time.
Cameron was the textbook at my med school's surgery department. All the residents were always quoting from Cameron. And the senior residents at my program all use Cameron more than any other textbook. Personally, I would have bought it months ago, but after shelling out so much cash for Sabiston, and G'field, I just couldn't justify another 160 bones for Cameron... not when I "really needed" an XBox.
