In preparation for the upcoming shelf exam in surgery, I thought it'd be nice to start a good listing of important things to remember while studying for the NBME shelf exam in surgery. Past and present test takers should feel free to contribute.

1. Bilious vomiting in an infant is malrotation until proven otherwise (contrary to Step 1 dogma that it would be considered duodenal atresia).
