So there are a bunch of threads on surviving M1/2, and clerkship/boards like First Aid Clerkship series, Iserson's Guide to residency, Blueprint etc, but are there any DO-specific books for clerk years/comlex, etc? I wouldn't want to study off a book geared towards MD-specific shelves or rotations. Or are they essentially the same? Thanks!

They're the same. The only study material that's DO-oriented is for OMM.

Ok thanks, so the shelves are the same, rotations etc, but I should study from COMLEX-specific guide books only right?

Personally, I found it more useful to prep for the USMLE with USMLE specific books and then read some Saverese for the OMM and do a few hundred combank questions.

Shelves vary from school to school. Some use the NBME ones (USMLE style) and some use the COMAT ones (COMLEX style.) First Aid for the USMLE works great for Level 1 when you add in the OMT book from Savarese. The consensus from my peers is that Step Up to Medicine along with the Savarese OMT book is great for Level 2. I personally opt for the USMLE World Qbanks, they seem to be more challenging and make you think harder, plus the answer explanations I find to be more detailed and useful. They don't cover OMT, but again, Savarese is more than enough review there.

The website appears to be down, but almost everyone I know got a hold of the Dr. Simmons COMLEX review pdf, so ask around and that should help you a ton IF you've already mastered the material in Savarese. It's still copywritten, so I can't do much more than mention it here. People in your situation have it and if they say they don't know what you're talking about, move on to another person.

This test sucks, just keep your head straight for the whole time and know that the really strange questions usually get thrown out anyways, so you'll be fine. Do USMLEWorld with whatever other study book you choose as your main text and you'll get through this miserable attempt at a licensing exam. First Aid seems to be the favorite for level 1, but Boards and Wards path and for Level 2 seem to be really helpful as well. They've really gone out of their way to improve the most recent editions, so lay out the money for them and get your read on! Focus on OB/GYN, Pediatrics, OMM and IM in that order.
