Hi,🙄

Im a swedish medical student (3rd year) coming to the US to do an observership at a hospital in NY. I have a few questions and I would be glad .

1) What to wear? ( Im doing my observership at the cardiovascular division. I have been looking around on this site and it seems like the best thing to do is to ask a doc/your supervisor at the department)

2) I would like to study abbreviations and terminology that are used in the cardiovascular field. Do you have any advices where I can read/find vocabulary lists?

3) Where do you eat lunch at the hospital? (the reason to why I ask this is that here in Sweden we bring our own food to the hospital and then there is a lounge for med students where you can find microwave ovens and other facilities)

Hope I will hear from you soon!😀

1) Shirt, tie, and slacks + white coat... are almost universally acceptable for male medical students on non-surgical rotations. Likewise, conservative office attire (non-revealing) + white coat is almost universally acceptable for female medical students on non-surgical rotations. Follow example of team once you arrive.

2) Google.
3) Probably institution dependent. It's America, no shortage of unhealthy food vendors in hospitals.

Any kind of advices are more than welcome!! (it doesnt have to involve answers to the questions)
