Hi all,
I'm currently a first year fellow in a pediatric subspecialty and am strongly considering quitting after this academic year (it's a 3 year fellowship). The reasons why are a topic for another day, but I have always been drawn to palliative medicine and have two questions:
1. If I were to apply to HPM fellowships in the future, would I have any chance of matching after having had quit another fellowship? I know I would need a letter from my fellowship PD, a good explanation for quitting, a strong personal statement, etc.
2. Can a pediatric trained palliative doc (ie. completed pediatrics residency) see adult patients after HPM fellowship? This is assuming I were able to match to a program where fellows see both adults and kids.
Thank you all
