Guy August test takers? Anybody switched from Kaplan to Examcrackers, but seeing little improvement when taking practice tests?
I started studying for the August MCAT in June. I had a ton of Kaplan stuff including the books from the course, MCAT 45 and MCAT workbook.
I heard great things about Examcrackers about three weeks into my studying switched to using the Examcrackers adn AudioOsmos...kinda starting everything from scratch.
Unfortunately for me I am still averaging about 9 on all sections (10 in verbal).
What am I doing wrong?!
Any advice from fans of Examkrackers??

i haven't used the science parts of EK, but for the sciences in general, i don't think it matters who you use........basically get your basics down cold........i mean, its has to be so fresh in your head that you recognize the concept right away.........after i got my sciences down cold, i've been getting consistent 12s and 13s in my sciences, whether i use kaplan or PR..................so get them down cold and practice like crazy........best of luck...

Are you done with all the materials? If you haven't reviewd all the materials theres no way you can expect anything above a 30.

Make sure to go over all your tests and see what you are doing wrong. For example are you constantly missing titration questions? If so go back and study titrations like mad.

Also what practice tests are you using? I've noticed that Kaplan's tests are built to fit their strategy. for instance Kaplan verbal tend to be more detail oriented and have little to no info in the question stem. This makes their strategy seem more effective since you have no choice but to map the passage. While at the same time making the EK method almost useless.

the part about the passages being suited to the strategy is the same for almost all test prep companies.....PR does this exact same thing as the above poster mentioned........i guess the only real way to see, is to see if your verbal strategy works for AAMC.
from what i've heard, EK does work on AAMC, but i have not tried it myself.

Yeah nero I would have to agree with you on that one. But I can only speak for Kaplan tests because those are what I have taken.
