Hi all! Thought I'd put myself out there and ask for some feedback or anyone's experience switching from vet med to med. I love the science of medicine, am very interested in research, and have recently been thinking maybe I haven't actually considered all the paths I could take to follow my interests.
I have several years of hands on clinical experience in veterinary medicine. I worked as a Large Animal ICU tech and small animal assistant. My skills cover catheter placement, passing nasogastric tubes, venipuncture, SC, IM, IV injections, running bloodwork, fluid therapy, drug dosing, running anesthesia and monitoring, surgery prep, etc...
Obviously things are very different in human medicine, but I am wondering how hard it would be to switch. I am considering taking the MCAT in a few months to see how competitive I may be as an applicant. I have a BS in cell biology 2014 and 2 years of work experience (mostly in veterinary teaching hospitals). My GPA is meh. Although I took classes last summer to boost it.
Anyone have any advice or thoughts?

You will need the relevant ECs to show that taking care of human patients is for you. Thus, none relating to animal work will count (except for research). You need to show that you want to be around sick people for the next 30-40 years.
