I am a current PGY1 in ENT. I don't find it interesting, and I fundamentally find the subject matter unfulfilling. I have wanted to do orthopedics ever since I was a teenager, and I have a strong CV with ortho research, including in basic science. I switched at the last hour in med school to ENT before apps due to a better connection with mentors. However, 6 months into residency, and I still want to do ortho. I regret the switch every day. What are my chances looking like to switch into ortho from ENT? I am fully motivated to do what it takes.

If you have the qualifications to match ENT, I'd imagine your odds of getting an ortho spot are pretty good. You should talk confidentially to the Ortho PD at your institution and see what they think.

Hi, were you able to start the switch process?
