Hey

Am a student at a state college in Pa that does not have a Pharmacy Program. I know will not be able get 4.0 so I need all the help I can get. Would changing schools that have a pharmacy programs (temple) help my chances on getting in since I will be doing my most of prerequisite there. Like a 3.4 done there is stronger then a transferring student with 3.4?

Thanks for the help

No - it wont - maximize your GPA & PCAT, and then apply to 4 or 5 programs.

I would take your prereq's and the PCAT.... just do as well as you can. One alternative way to get your "foot in the door" may be to find a university to go to that has affiliations with pharmacy schools for acceptance.

In my personal experience, I happen to be a student at a university in Ohio. Last year, a new pharmacy school opened up, and low and behold, they had a relationship with my university. The relationship was that they accepted 20% of their pharmacy class of students (15 students out of 75) from my school. So, I got my butt in gear, applied early admission, and I got in!! Be proactive, and do the best you can do... that's all you can ask of yourself. Best of luck!

Sincerely,

Some pharmacy schools do have agreements with their undergraduate brethren. For example, Creighton does offer conditional guaranteed admission that only requires a formality interview but not the PCAT if a Creighton undergrad maintains a certain GPA.

I don't know anything about Temple, so you have to do the research to see if they offer a similar program. Anyway, a 4.0 is not needed for acceptance.😉
