Hello,
I am accepted to school X which is in the state I am from. However, I attended undergrad in a different state, and after two years there, I switched my residency to that state(For only my jr/sr year). Now, I live back in my original state, where I grew up since I was 2, graduated highschool from, and was a resident of for almost all of my life EXCEPT the last two years. Both my parents lived there their entire lives and work there, as well as my sister. I am currently considered OOS (Since I switched my residency two years ago) and the school X says I must have residency in their state for 1 year PRIOR to the first day of class in august, rendering me ineligible for IS tuition. Does anyone think it would be advisable to attempt to appeal this? I am really unsure of how I would/if I would just call but I feel like someone in admissions/who works to form their budget could help me out, as I am not a typical OOS resident. Thanks for any help!

You should call the registrar! They handle in-state tuition matters, and I'm sure they've had this kind of inquiry many times.

I'd suggest calling the admissions office and asking them which department you should correspond with regarding the matter.
