Ok im confused here.
the Kaplan video guy gives an example-
BASIS- classical conditioning: old response to a new stimulus
EX- old response: relaxation
new stimulus: snake
old stimulus: mother
(this is what kaplan is teaching me)
but shouldn't it be OPERANT CONDITIONING instead?
EX- new response- relaxation
old response- anxiety
old stimulus- snake
the reason i say this is because what has CHANGED is the response (from anxiety to relaxation) hence, it is a new response,---to the same stimulus(snake)
where am i wrong?
reference is about the 4 minute mark of behavioral therapy video in beh. sciences.
i hope I'm kind of clear but you have to watch the video to know what I'm saying.
thanks for any help.
