I was wondering if anyone has questions for MSK (muscles and bones) and different resources for each block if you have a systems-based curriculum. My school provides little to no resources for practice questions which has been extremely frustrating. I have been doing poorly and they suggest making my own. I am not good at making questions and wondering if anyone has textbook recommends for like cardio, MSK, and respiratory for an MS1 student. Board prep resources I have tried but do not correlate with our lectures.

Gray’s anatomy for msk

Anyone that has practice questions from their school on a Google drive willing to share them? Guessing my curriculum is similar to other schools
How about dermatology for ms1 student?

BRS and Grays. Also Umich Anatomy website has a lot of questions

Netter's text book for anatomy practicals.
There was an anki deck I used but forgot the name of it.

I did poorly on my anatomy practical. The lecture and 2nd order questions always get me. I get the function and identification right but not th other multiple choice questions.

Just keep grinding. Get thru it like all the other bull in medical school.

Study hard for lecture part and go into lab 2-3 times and run thru sheet with someone who knows thier stuff and you'll be fine.
Don't worry about crushing anatomy practicals... anatomy is worthless for boards.

I hated them too, but now I'm finishing block 5 and no more anatomy from here on out... feels so good!

I literally failed good thing it is 7% of my grade. I haven't passed an exam since my FOM course which is scary.

Gonna reach out to a coach or onlinemeded.

How do you study for your classes?

I suggest using BnB/FA/Sketchy/Pathoma to drill important stuff, then go thru lecture powerpoints 2-3x to fill in gaps with the details for school exams. I'm not sure how many hours you put in, but gotta put in like 6 hrs a day at least.

Dope's anatomy deck for Anki.
Acland's videos if you need help visualizing on a cadaver.

Useful for Boards?

Aclands to pass anatomy practicals.
Dope's anatomy is very comprehensive for boards, basically took netters pictures and the muscle tables in moores and turned it into a deck.

Whats your daily study schedule look like, like from start to sleep. I'm trying to also figure out where I'm procrastinating and falling behind

Wake up 10 am and eat brunch
Sipping coffee and studying by 11 am - FA/Bnb/Pathoma 1st then go thru lecture ppts
Around 6 pm start thinking about dinner and take TV break
7 pm continue studying, with breaks in between until midnight
Watch TV til 2 am.

I do all of this with my gf who's also a med student same class. This makes it much easier, so we push eacother (esp since she's much smarter than me and tutors me thru out if I need it haha)

My schedule will be changing very soon (block 6) bc I have to incorporate boards studying also.
So probably earlier nights so I can get questions/system review in the a.m.

How many passes do you get through before exams? Struggling with anatomy here too, but I’ve got lots of tutoring in lab lined up before the next exam.

I need 3 passes of material to feel good. I can pretty much do it in 2 days, but ideally 3 days.
- I do my first pass slowly... watching lecs 2x speed and take notes on blank sheet of paper, pausing lec if I need to.
- 2nd pass I go thru my notes and run thru the powerpoints together
- 3rd pass just read my notes

Like I said, I watch relevant board material at the same time throughout bc that hits high yield.
Anatomy is wack. But this is a must for Path, Physio, Pharm, Micro, etc.

Besides anatomy are there any other subjects you don't use external resources first to preview? I wish I did this for immunology.

None. I use BOARD RELEVANT sources for ALL my classes.

I use FA/BnB if possible for Anatomy - usually only the Embryo hits best though. Like I said anatomy is useless on boards besides the CN's.
Micro and Pharm I use Sketchy vids/PDF/pepper deck.
Path I used Dr. Sattar's Pathoma vids + text.
Physio I also use BnB and FA.

The only class I don't use external sources for is a Clinical Medicine class we have at my school. But this combines all other classes, so technically I do use all those sources combined for it. But at that point I've seen the material a lot, I can just rush thru ppts quickly and refer to annotated FA/Pathoma as I go.

My FA book is looking like the Testament of Medicine with all the annotations at this point haha!

So you keyword search FA for anatomy and msk? Trying to use it more to preview

No I use it by block or system. So each block I annotate the entire system in FA using BnB/Pathoma and even Sketchy.
By the time Boards roll around, it'll be an entirely annotated book that I can use to review UW questions, etc.

Thanks! Just wondering if it'll help me break down the information and condense before my exams

I def think it will + you're narrowing what's imp for boards
Any advice on practice questions for pathology related to pathoma 18.1(achondroplasia and bone diseases)?

The only practice questions I did were the quizzes we were assigned to complete as part of our grade, sorry.
