T-10 spinal cord transection

Why is anethesia still required for operations below a T10 cord resection? My first response was that it was surgery dependant. Example, Ex-lap would need anesthesia. However, the question was then redirected to a flap closure on the lower extremity.

any help would be appreciated

You are correct. The higher the level, the more likely you will have problems. Why take the chance at T10
