Tablet PC in undergrad

I am planning to take notes with tablet pc in undergrad years. Also, I am planning to organize my computer notes with Microsoft OneNote.

Which tablet PC should I buy ? Any one has suggestions ?

If you want to write stuff, I'd just use a (paper) notebook. The information volume in college isn't really high enough to warrant using a tablet to save time, in my opinion. I also didn't have very many classes - none that I recall - that posted powerpoint slides beforehand, so a tablet wouldn't do you all that much good. Of course, I'm kind of anti-tablet in general and don't see much point in them. I think you'd be best served to get a "normal" laptop and just type or scribble notes as necessary.

If you're really set on getting a tablet, the only two people I know with tablets have Lenovos and love them. I'm a big fan of Lenovo, too. Dell's business line is also quite good (very much unlike their consumer models).

I dont think writing on a tablet is going to be faster than writing by hand. Plus, its like the same thing...why not just use a notebook? If you want to type notes that different. Some people type faster than they write (like me), and in those cases it might be better for you to just use a normal laptop. If you want advice on what to get..i think macs are really good.

You are right. Take notes by typing is better sometimes because I type faster than writing it down. However, I like to combine the written and typing notes together on the computer so I personally want to use a tablet pc.

In a fast pace course, you wont have time to think about whether or not you rotate between writing and typing. You have to stick to one or the other to save most time. Ofcourse you can go your way, but im just advising you based on experience and im sure MilkmanAl is also.

Honestly, I would just stick with a notebook for undergrad. Personally I find it better/easier than having to use a tablet, plus, if a friend misses a class you can lend notes, or if you have study session, its alot easier to mess around with a notebook than a tablet. A laptop isn't a bad idea though because with English as a second language, you might be going to some sort of classes for help with writing, so it would be nice to be able to bring all your papers a long with you. Just a thought though.
