Is it tacky when programs give out more invites than they have interviews? It makes me feel like I'm just a cow in some cattle. I think I would view it as a negative. Doubtful that UCSF or MGH is doing that.

Funny you mention MGH, because someone in the general ERAS and the Match section said MGH did just that.

Someone got an invite from MGH but was unable to actually interview because all the slots were taken...
I don't know if I buy that..

Super tacky. Why would a program do that? I have no idea. How much extra work is it to wait a week to see if people decline or don't respond.
