Take a minimum wage job (if given), or hold out for pharmacy internship?

So, this fall I'm gonna be a P1 at Creighton. Right now, I'm in Ca, and I work at target. The job isn't pharmacy-related, though I have been the pharmacy cashier a few times. Anyway, today I asked my boss if I could transfer to another Target closer to my school, and she basically told me to bring her a list of stores I would be interested in working at.

Obviously, the best-case scenario would be if I could get a pharmacy student internship at another Target (though I'm not 100% sure if the Targets I'm applying for have this program in place). Assuming this doesn't happen, I would either be transferred as a regular cashier, or there would be no positions available, and my time at Target would end.

So here is my dilemma: IF there aren't any pharmacy intern spots open, and instead I have the option of working part-time as a regular Target employee (min-wage job), should I take it? Or should I hold out for any sort of internship, even if its not at Target?

Apply for pharmacy jobs while holding down cashier job at Target.

This second hand info from a close friend who intern at Target. We are PY4.

Target does not really pick from their interns pool exclusively when the time comes. I was told that they allow you to apply sooner for a position over other job seekers. I would talk about this over with your pharmacist and confirm if this is the case. I wouldn't want to intern for 4 years and then NOT get a job.

I would stay at Target until you can find a pharmacy position.
