Hello Everyone,
Last year I made a mistake and took the combined, 5 hour anatomy and physiology class at my school because I am a biochemistry major and it is the class for non-bio majors. I had a busy semester with inorganic chem and analytical II, so I unfortunately got a B in the class.

My pre-med adviser suggested that I take the 4 hour physiology class next semester because it will be more in depth and will help prepare me for the MCAT in June (and also because it is his class haha), but I am still torn. Will this semi-retake look bad/be difficult to explain to adcoms, especially if I get a B again? Also wouldn't my time be better spent taking neurobiology as an additional upper-level bio class?

For context, here are my other upper-level science classes:
Molecular Bio, Biochem I, Analytical II, PChem: A
Inorganic Chem, Analytical I, Cell Bio, Anatomy and Physiology: B
I'll also be taking Biochem II next semester

Thanks!

Physiology definitely helped me with the MCAT through prior exposure to the material. It's not a retake if the class has a different course number and name BTW.

physio was harder/more to memorize but was on the mcat moreso than neurobio

Take neuropsychophysiopediatrics you won't have to take the first two years of med school.

lel

Do you know such school that lets me take Neuropsychophysiopediatrics 101?

All jokes aside, I didn't know taking Neurology/Psychology/Physiology/Anatomy/BioChem/Pediatrics during UG lets you pass those courses during medical school.
hahaha

Thanks for the replies everyone!
I definitely believe that physio would help a bit more with the MCAT, though I was also thinking it might be helpful to get an additional upper-level bio class under my belt. I'm mainly just worried that although it's not technically a retake because they have different course numbers, taking combined anatomy/phys then physiology could be perceived as something similar and someone may ask why I bothered with the combined section at all. Do you think it would it raise any red flags for adcoms?

I took A&P as a sophomore, Animal Physiology as a junior- an upper level course at my institution. Animal Physiology was the single most informative/ preparatory course I took in undergrad in regards to the MCAT. My tests were 100 questions in 80 mins with multiple choice, free response and essay questions all in the same exam.
