Hey guys,

i know people take their resume to the interview, but is it appropriate to bring any publications and/or major thesis papers one has written regarding the healthcare system o the interview as well or is that just pushing the envelope too far? Thanks y'all 🙂

I don't think it's necessary. They will know you have a pub from your app and you don't want to send the wrong message.

if you want to look like a complete tool to everyone there. You should show up in a short white coat while you're at it

I brought a copy of my pubs and a printout of my amcas and kept it in my leather portfolio; once one of the interviewers wanted to talk about a point in the paper and it was nice to have it on hand. You can also study it during downtime. I wouldn't bring them out unless asked though.

STRONGLY concur with this post. AdCom are very diligent about reading your file, so give us credit for looking at your publication list...we might even ask you a question on it.

I've mentioned this before in a similar posting; at my school we've rejected people who came across like attention-demanding overacheivers.

That's taking it too far. I think resume is OK, but it's not like your interviewer is going to sit and have cookies with you as you discuss fruit fly genetics. Leave the pubs at home. Save some trees.

Bring a copy, stick it in the folder you bring, but don't show it to them unless they specifically ask to see it. Just whipping it out will make you seem like a pretentious douche. I brought mine, never once took it out.

👍 I agree, I brought mine but never took it out either. No one needs to know you have it, it will still make you feel more prepared which is all that really matters.
