Hey guys heres a quiz I found on the UMich website. Jc what you guys think about how the quiz is written.

1)Were your tests in anatomy pretty much just as straight forward as this quiz?
2) How much time did your professor give you to memorize superficial back and the stuff on this quiz?

Chill bro. You will be fine.. just enjoy your summer, and congrats for getting in.

But to answer your questions, (1) most of that stuff seems like reasonable exam material... at least at my school. (2) everyday feels like exam week, and you'll hopefully get used to it. We had block exams so we would have to learn anatomy along with other things throughout the year. One exam every month and half that was all-inclusive. So, that gives a little room to catch up if you are lagging behind.

Aside from the first 5 or 6 softball questions, the rest look like they could appear on our exam. There will be questions that will be tougher than what's on that website. Also, reading through the questions made me realize how much anatomy I've forgotten.

yeah looks about right for anatomy. i found anatomy questions super straight-forward, memorization focused. more so than usual. The time given to memorize this was miniscule however. go do something fun. seriously. you'll regret spending this time studying.

Pretty much this. You'll get new information thrown at you up until a couple days before the exam, and you'll be expected to know it well enough to at least pass by a reasonable margin. Anatomy was the only time where I truly felt overwhelmed. Maybe that was by design, because so far everything after anatomy has been relatively much more manageable.

Tangential comment...
I showed the link to a few other attendings. It's amazing how much of the detail gets forgotten as the time goes on.

I've thought it would interesting to get a group of attendings together and all take Step 1, just to see how we'd do after all this time. It would probably turn out pretty badly.

Yeah a prof at our school pulls some of his anatomy Qs straight from the UMich website. Arranged occasionally to give different answers, and none of the easy ones like the first 6 or so. Typical med school Qs here, we often used UMich for practice.

I remember doing these during MS1 anatomy. Stopped doing them after the first block because our tests were way harder.

I liked Umich as a first resource. Not near enough for the quizzes/exams but not a bad starting point for testing your knowledge. Our school spent one day on superficial back.

Way too easy for anatomy exams. Still a good resource to study but our exams were much tougher.
We couldn't have spent more than one lecture on this stuff.

Just relax, enjoy your summer the workload will be overwhelming at first and then you will find comfort in your discomfort. At the end of the day med school is very do-able
