  1. Pharmacy Student
Background: I've submitted my pharmcas application for the Fall 2016 year. Need o chem 2 and Bio 2 for pre requisites and have a borderline 2.74 gpa. Was looking to take tons of classes next spring to raise my gpa. Have an A in O chem at the moment and have gotten A's in my Biology courses so I am confident I can do really well next semester as well.

I've been taken off financial aid at my community college. Something about being over the 150% of credits. I took 40 credits in high school for free and apparently that counts as the 150% of credits for my degree. My degree is an associates in liberal arts (60 credits, graduated last summer) 150% of that is 90 credits. my next semester brings my total up to around 100. I just need one more semester of classes and I REALLY don't want to transfer to another university just to take 19 credits at 4 times the cost. I'm really lost. All I feel like I have for options are either scholarships, paying 3000 out of pocket, or transferring to a more expensive college. Any ideas how to go about this?

Stick it out, getting into pharmacy school is way more important, it's an investment. $3000 for one semester isn't bad as long as you're willing to work hard to bring up your GPA. After that it's a steady road into pharmacy school.

Best of luck

Know this:
Spring 2016 GPA not used by admission committee regarding admissions because admission decisions made after Fall 2015 grades + before spring 2016 grades completed. Spring 2016 grades helpful insuch scenarios:
1) INTERVIEWED GOT OFFERED, but need complete microbio, biochem. I need Cs to get in, if get Ds, I don't get in.
2) Spring 2016 grades helpful for those on waiting list where a new refreshing spring grades might help boost their admission prospects. But again, waiting list, yr hope is slim. I think those people must have 2.9 or 2.8 and spring grades might somehow boost 3.0 - 3.2

Why don't you switch to Bachelor Applied Science or 4 year degree option. My school= community college. recently morphed to state college because it had 4 year degrees. As long as i enroll in uppler level sciences, biochem, genetics, microbio, I will still get aid for those classes. some $ left over use to pay for physics 2, a& p1-2? why dont u try going to state college . cheaper than univer

I have 2.67 gpa overall 87 pcat. I need take more science classes improve my science gpa, but UF told me they'll make decision before spring 2016 grades completed. so if i get 15 credits with As in spring 2016. it only help me for fall 2016-2017 applicatuon cycle, not current one. I will have to waste another year. more like 2. so i decided to excel in pcat instead. if uf dont get me some other school will.

The issue is that I live with my parents at the moment to save money, the only colleges available around me are private universities which sucks. I may switch majors like you stated or even cough up the 3000 dollars

Do you think I should take out a loan for the 3000 then pay it off immediately once I finish it up? cheaper payments interest free for 6 months as opposed to over 3 months to pay my school directly

Take out a loan if NEEDED, but ensure that the interest rate is small. If I were you I would pick up a job in the pharmacy and pay it off slowly while working and balancing school instead.
