I'm taking Biochem so far as my only upper level science, and I think I'm going to pull off an A- . I'm applying for MD early next cycle (3.93 sGPA, 3.87 cGPA, 33 MCAT), shooting for schools like USC.
And now onto my questions:
1) How bad is it that I'm getting an A- in my only upper level science? Does it look even worse seeing that it's in Biochem 1?
2) Should I take Cancer Biology or Biochem 2 (which focuses on stuff like metabolism) as an equivalent to molecular/cell bio? I'm leaning towards Cancer Bio because it is taught by a good professor that I know, and it has less class time.
3) Granted that I get an A in that class, should I take Cancer Biology/Biochem 2 next semester to give that slight boost in GPA and overshadow my A- in Biochem 1? Do those sound like reasonable enough reasons to take that risk, or should I just take this class in my senior fall semester?
Sorry if I sound a little neurotic, haha. Just trying to avoid any big mistakes, if there are any.
Thanks!
