I want to take Mandarin at my Uni this year for fun. I'm hearing however that it is rather difficult to get an A in. I don't want this to be a class that I stress over, especially in that I also intend to earn clinical, volunteering and research hours while taking a couple other challenging courses.

I already completed the lower division language requirements for a different language with As.

What do you think? Would it look bad if I take this class P/NP?

I'll let someone with more knowledge weigh in more definitively, but long as you're not doing this with a pre-requisite or it looks like you're trying to game a borderline GPA by a last minute switch to P/F, you'll probably be fine.
