I was thinking about taking either astronomy or Meteorology this semester because I'm interested in both topics. Both are non majors level classes. Will schools look at this and think I am padding my gpa? Also I'm assuming these would count into my sci gpa even though it's a basic level class.
cheers

I'm kinda torn between the 2 of them since they both interest me! What's gonna end up deciding is which class opens up first since they are both closed right now...

That's fine, as long as you enjoy them. Make sure you do well, though. 😉

You are suppost to pad your GPA. Its not like you are taking raquetball.

I took a bunch of non major non science classes in college, like comedy, tennis, Russian (even though I already spoke it fluently, my reading was so so and I couldn't write), mass media classes. Nobody ever made any negative comments on it. Only kind of negative comment I got was made jokingly, he said "How is it possible that you got a B in tennis but an A in physical chemistry? Shouldn't it go the other way around?" But he was laughing when he said it, it was only one credit so it wasn't a big deal.

quite ironic for sure.

yeah, you can take whatever you want ... just make an A in it. those geo and atronomy classes are designed to be easy As.

the only padded class i took was weight training, personally.

Definitely take a class if it interests you. I have taken a VARIETY of classes -- not with the intention of bringing up my G.P.A., but to rather take classes that are of interest to me.

However, meterology and astronomy would not count as your overall science G.P.A. (As far as I understand anyway).

I thought tennis was going to be an easy A, but apparently it wasn't. My teacher was hard core. I apparently didn't play well enough to get the A. Well duh, when you consider the star of our tennis team was also in our beginner class, so by comparision, we all were horrible.

yeah, there were football players in my class ... imagine them lifting max weight and here I am struggling to get past 100 on most of the machines ... and past 200 on the leg machines ...

our "coach" was a douche anyways .. if you showed up and got atleast an 80% on the midterm and final, you got your A. Apparently, I later find out that the class was designed for athletes to pad their GPA, I lucked out.
