Taking a Practice Exam day before Exam

Is it wise or advised against taking a practice exam the day before exam? What about 2 days before exam? What is latest one should take final practice exam leading up to test day?

I wouldn't recommend it just because the exams are so tiring. Take the day off and do something relaxing! Try to squeeze in some type of workout. I took my last one a week before my actual exam and did a couple of Khan academy passages each day leading up to the exam

I took one three days before the exam, reviewed it all two days before, and took the day before as a half day with flashcards and chilling- I felt like it was enough down time to feel fresh for the actual exam

It depends on the person and how deep you are in. I would say it is important to not change your schedule. If you have been taking a week between practice exams, do NOT switch it up now. I took my last one 5 days before, finished reviewing it 3 days, which left me with 1 day to go over things I wanted to cover, and 1 day to relax & an hour to review high yield things again. I kind of wish I would have spaced it out to a week before, but oh well.

everyone's different but I definitely don't recommend taking it the day before. I think the last day should be for relaxing and doing something fun to get your mind off the test

I don't recommend it. The day before my MCAT all I did was play games and I think flashcards for like 1 hour, but nothing else. Definitely best to go in well rested mentally. Also, the biggest benefit of practice tests (if your timing is already good, which 1 day before the exam it should be) is reviewing them and seeing your thought process, etc. So I don't think it would help anything at all to take one as you would have no time to review it.

I would say if you feel like you need to take a practice test the day before the exam you shouldn't be taking the exam.

Just echoing what everyone said above.

Don’t do it. Test fatigue is real. I’d recommend chilling the day before. You want to be as mentally sharp possible going into the exam.

Also... practice tests can be stressful. A lot of test prep companies put useless topics in their exams that you don’t need to know. I would hate to see something extremely low yield the day before my test and mentally freak myself out.
