Is it bad to take a premed requirement at another college? Not during the summer, but during the year? I just found out I could cross register at nearby college and take their orgo class. my orgo professor is a notoriously bad professor and unfair. BTW it's a "lower-tier" school compared to mine

Its okay as long as you are willing to pay more money for transcripts when you apply to med school.

how did you find out you can cross register?

I know at my university you cannot be enrolled in other institutions except during the summer and winter intercessions.

I heard from a friend, apparently my school allows it even though I guess it's a bit rare.

I switched majors to Biology from nursing. Because of that, i couldnt do Chem 1 during a fall semester because i had not met the math requirement. I didnt want to fall behind on my schedule so I took that math at my uni and just did Chem 1 at a local CC.

Its actually pretty funny, my got a B at the CC because the teacher was the head of the chem dept(read he was really really old) and spent more time going on tangents and telling old chemistry anecdotes than teaching. Took Chem 2 in the Spring at my uni and got an A, go figure.

Are you planning on taking both Organic chems at this other college or just the first semester? If its just the first one, i say as long as you come back and rock o. chem 2 at your university itll show them that you can handle it.

Are cross-registering class more intended for courses that aren't offered at your university? would it be frowned upon if i went to take orgo at another school even though my school offers it?

That would definitley raise major questions. If I saw someone take a class of organic chemistry at a different university, while concurrently taking the rest of their classes at their home university, there is only one conclusion (and in this case the correct one). You're trying to avoid a difficult class by taking an easier path somewhere else, which is very questionable.
