Does anyone know if it is possible to take a year off from Pharm school for non-serious health related reasons?

Most likely answer is, depends on the seriousness of the reason and the individual school's policy. The schools that try to retain every student may be more inclined to let you do so than the weed-out programs who would be happy to drop you at whatever reason.
